Brand New Shoes
by APieceOfShitNamedTate ini'm debuting these at the meeting sunday.
all the other brothers will be jealous of me, and all of the sisters will want to date me with a view to marriage.

The last generation of JW’s
by HiddenPimo inif you take a moment to look at the demographics of your congregation (if you’re pimo), i think you will notice that the youngest elders are in their late thirty’s and early 40’s.. that is the generation that i was part of when still in as an elder,.
we were last ones to work on all the quickbuilds and the big conventions.
we were the last ones to remember the original jw way of life with the gatherings all the time and the books studies in the homes.

further to joe 134CD 's comment..i think the watchtower want all pimo's out. they are a ticking time bomb in the congregations.

Religious offshoots / breakaway groups from Jehovah`s Witnesses around the world.?
by smiddy3 ini believe there are some breakaway groups in different parts of the world ,however i think they are small sects and fall under the radar so to speak.
either jw`s or ibsa ?.
does anybody here know of any and have any information about them ?

@Blondie
I just refer to your link to Wikipedia. The çurrent version of Jehovah's witnesses dates back to 1931, and even by then they no longer believed in much of Russell's ideas. So to claim they started in 1870 is a bit far fetched..isn't it ?
Of course..now the current catalogue of beliefs is different to what they taught in 1931..so..yes..they are very much a splinter group from the Russell era.

Stopping Thought Stopping.
by Peeringin inim sure that many on this forum will be aware of the thought-stopping techniques that are taught by jws/wts to suppress difficult thoughts and overcome cognitive dissonance in favour of reverting back to belief in wts.. often in conversation these will be clear verbal cues that can sound unnatural during the course of a conversation, as though an individual is temporarily reading a script to overcome a difficult point.. my question to you all is this:.
are there any methods or resources that people are aware of that can help to break through a thought stopping mechanism when it is noticeably in effect?
a question perhaps, or technique that will encourage the individual to think the thought through in its entirety?.

just to set the record straight...some sisters are allowed to handle the microphone: they must be somberly dressed--with their head covered. a cardboard box has to be placed over their head to they cannot see or be recognised.
they also have to walk backwards and wear rubber gloves.
finally--they are not permitted to fondle, stroke, lick or suck the microphone.

Can You Only Be Baptised At An Assembly These Days?
by snugglebunny injust wondering..my step-grandfather, (he eventually persuaded my widowed jw grand-mother to marry him and he was already well into his 80's but had lusted after her for some time, she being an incredibly bonny woman)..i digress..he eventually converted to the jw religion, but because of health issues was baptised at home in the bath..

i wonder--if a person lay down on the ground--and a number of others persons stood around him, and pissed on him--would that count as a baptism ?
